Major: Accounting

Sofia Petz loves that Union Commonwealth University brings together people from all over the world, giving her the chance to build friendships across cultures and backgrounds. She describes herself as a fun, supportive, and motivating teammate who always brings positive energy to the group.

Outside of track and field, Sofia enjoys traveling and hopes to build a career that allows her to work online while exploring new places. Her favorite subject in high school was French, and she looks up to sprinter Gina Lückenkemper as her athletic role model.

Coconut water is her favorite drink, and she reaches for protein bars when she needs a road-trip snack. She enjoys Asian food as her favorite meal and prefers Instagram as her favorite social platform.

Sofia wants to be remembered for never giving up and for the determination she brings both on and off the track. She shares that Coach Jelks and the welcoming community at Union have made a meaningful impact on her experience. Her second-best sport is gymnastics.
