Union Women Close Indoor Season at AAC Championships
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed last week at the AAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track.
Sprint and Distance Events
Kaidence Key led the Bulldogs in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 8.20 in the preliminaries.
In the 200 meters, Latalyah Sloan represented Union with a time of 28.04, while Andrea Smith paced the Bulldogs in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:33.47.
Jumps and Hurdles
D'Mya White led Union in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.22 in the preliminaries, while Ava Arnett followed at 10.25.
Paula Sanchez Schultz earned an eighth-place finish in the high jump after clearing 1.42 meters. Schulz also placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.00 meters.
Relays
In the 4x400-meter relay, Ava Arnett, Bella Townsend, Dagmara Lubina and Andrea Smith combined for a time of 4:30.74.
The Bulldogs added an 11:20.87 finish in the 4x800-meter relay, with Sofia Petz, Kaylee Hall, Townsend and Smith.
Union also competed in the distance medley relay, as Smith, Lubina, Townsend and Petz recorded a time of 14:39.47.
Throws
Abigail Bradley led Union in the shot put with a throw of 10.28 meters, earning a ninth-place finish out of 16 competitors.
