Union Women’s Track Finishes Third at Anderson Invitational
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed at the Anderson Invitational on Saturday, finishing third out of nine teams with 77 points.
The Bulldogs recorded multiple podium finishes and strong performances across all event groups.
Sprint Events
Kaelyn Halmon and Kaidence Key advanced to the finals of the 60-meter dash after qualifying in the preliminaries. Halmon placed fifth in the final with a time of 8.43, while Key finished sixth at 8.47.
In the 200 meters, Halmon ran 28.47 for fifth place and Key finished sixth in 28.48. Ava Arnett placed eighth in 28.87, while Latalyah Sloan ran 30.54.
Distance Events
Kaylee Hall placed fifth in the 600 meters with a time of 2:07.66.
In the 800 meters, Sofia Petz finished second in 2:37.36, followed closely by Andrea Smith in third at 2:39.43.
Jumps and Hurdles
Ava Arnett led Union in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing second with a time of 10.35. Dagmara Lubina earned fifth place in 10.92.
Paula Sanchez Schultz delivered a standout performance in the high jump, clearing 1.51 meters for first place. She also earned third in the long jump with a mark of 4.79 meters.
Throws
Abigail Bradley took third in the shot put with a throw of 10.23 meters and placed seventh in the weight throw at 10.52 meters. Michaela Williams also competed in both events, recording marks of 7.26 meters in the shot put and 7.33 meters in the weight throw.
Relays
The Bulldogs' 4x200-meter relay team of Halmon, White, Key, and Sloan placed second with a time of 1:53.81.
