Major: Nursing

Andrea Smith appreciates the small class sizes and welcoming environment at Union Commonwealth University, where she feels supported both academically and athletically. She strives to be a supportive and uplifting teammate, always giving her best to help the team succeed.

Outside of track and field, Andrea loves traveling and hopes to become a pediatric nurse. She looks forward to caring for children and helping ease their fears in medical settings. Her favorite subject in high school was science, and she admires Parker Valby as her athletic role model.

Andrea’s favorite drink is a Starbucks strawberry lemonade, and popcorn is her go-to snack on road trips. She enjoys Mexican chicken nachos as her favorite meal and prefers Instagram as her favorite social platform. At home, she has one dog and three cats.

Andrea wants to be remembered for her dedication to her team and the effort she puts into everything she does. She shares that Coach Jelks has had a positive impact on her during her time at Union, and she proudly notes that her mom is also a Union graduate. Her second-best sport is dance.
