Bio
Major: Nursing
Marina Ortiz is a nursing major whose favorite thing about Union is the strong sense of community—she appreciates how supportive and helpful everyone is. Her dream job is to become a NICU nurse, inspired by her passion for working with babies.
In high school, Marina’s favorite subject was English. Outside of the classroom and court, she enjoys creating art. She looks up to volleyball icon Madison Skinner for inspiration.
Her go-to road trip snack is Cheez-Its, and she loves sipping on green apple Gatorade. Her favorite meal is chicken Alfredo, and her favorite social media platform is TikTok. At home, Marina has two dogs and one cat.
She sees herself as an uplifting teammate and hopes to be remembered as a well-rounded player and a positive presence on and off the court. In addition to volleyball, she also enjoys playing softball, her second-best sport.
