Robert Sanford appreciates the close-knit community at Union, saying the smaller campus helps everyone feel more connected. When he’s not on the field, you’ll likely find him fishing—his favorite hobby and a perfect fit for his dream job as a game warden, where he can enjoy nature while helping others.

His favorite subject in high school was science, and he looks up to football icon Ray Lewis. Robert’s go-to drink is lemonade, his favorite road trip snack is trail mix, and he’s a big fan of taco salad. You’ll catch him scrolling through TikTok, his preferred social media platform.

At home, Robert has three dogs and one cat, and on the field, he considers himself an encouraging teammate—always ready to lift others up. He wants to be remembered for becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. Someone at Union who has positively impacted his journey is Mrs. Stephanie Lewis.
