Union Women’s Bowling Battles Through Weekend Tournament Play
SMYRNA, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth women's bowling team competed this weekend in the MSC Greater Nashville on Saturday and the MSC Brandon Burns Memorial on Sunday.
Both tournaments are part of the Mid-South Conference schedule and are also recognized as NAIA and USBC events. Each tournament features four team games and eight Baker games, with around 150 individual bowlers in the women's field.
MSC Greater Nashville
The Bulldogs finished 13th overall, recording a team total of 3,206, a Baker total of 1,170, and a combined score of 4,376.
Laila Lambert led the Bulldogs with a 22nd-place finish, totaling 734 pins and averaging 183.5. Abigail Merten followed closely in 23rd, finishing with 731 pins and averaging 182.75.
Brylie Gold totaled 609 pins and averaged 152.25.
Danica Tompkins, Marissa Prieto, and Mollie Correll each bowled two games. Tompkins averaged 145.5 with a total of 291, Prieto averaged 145 with a total of 290, and Correll averaged 143.5 with a total of 287.
MSC Brandon Burns Memorial
The Bulldogs finished 11th overall, recording a team total of 3,118, a Baker total of 1,331, and a combined score of 4,449.
Lambert continued to lead the Bulldogs, finishing 33rd with a total of 705 pins and an average of 176.25, highlighted by an impressive 244 in game three.
Merten followed in 39th with 696 pins and an average of 174. Gold added 645 pins, averaging 161.25 over four games.
Tompkins competed in three games, totaling 426 pins and averaging 142, while Olivia Brock bowled two games with 286 total pins and an average of 143.
Up next, the Bulldogs will compete in the Roto Grip Raider Classic on Saturday, Nov. 8.
