Union Women’s Bowling Opens Season at Columbia 300 Western Shootout
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Union Commonwealth University women's bowling team kicked off its 2025 season this past weekend, competing in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.
The Bulldogs placed 18th overall, posting a team total of 4,922, a baker total of 2,813, and a combined score of 7,735. The event featured six traditional team games and 16 baker games, with individual averages calculated from the six team games.
Abigail Merten led the way for Union, finishing 51st with a six-game total of 1,052 pins and an average of 175.3. Alyssa Mueller followed in 66th place, tallying 1,012 pins and averaging 168.7.
Brylie Gold and Laila Lambert turned in consistent performances for the Bulldogs. Gold placed 73rd with 1,003 total pins and a 167.2 average, while Lambert finished 77th with 983 pins and a 163.8 average. Mollie Correll rounded out the lineup, knocking down 743 pins across five games for a 148.6 average.
Union will return to competition at the Bee Bash #1 and #2, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, and Sunday, Oct. 19.
