- Union equaled the program record for wins in a season with 34 in 2016, finishing the year 34-11.
- The Bulldogs became the first team in AAC history to win an NAIA Opening Round match, defeating then-No. 20 Cornerstone (Mich.) 3-2 on Nov. 18, 2016. Union advanced to the final site of the NAIA National Championship Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa, going 1-2 in pool play. The win at the final site was also a first in conference history.

- In the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round in 2014, Wise and the Bulldogs gave No. 16 Madonna (Mich.) all they could handle, before falling in four sets. For the first time in program history, however, Union was able to take a set in an NAIA National Tournament match, as the Bulldogs fell in straight sets in their two previous appearances.

- Wise came to Union after a five-year stint at William Penn (Iowa) where he compiled a 121-95 record with the Lady Statesmen. He took his 2008 squad to the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
- Prior to that, Wise amassed a 201-171 record during a 10-year stay at Urbana (Ohio).
- Wise led William Penn to the program's first-ever national tournament appearance in 2008, earning a berth to the NAIA Opening Round. The team shared the Midwest Collegiate Conference regular-season crown and then claimed the MCC Tournament title. The squad's 26 wins (26-15) were the most since 1985.

His squads broke every school record, including wins, and he left as the winningest coach in school history with 202 victories.
