Major: Elementary Education

Jonica Smith's favorite thing about Union is the campus, saying she loves its small size and beautiful setting. Her dream is to become a teacher because she believes educators have one of the greatest impacts on people's lives. She hopes to be someone her students can trust, look up to and feel safe with.

Jonica enjoys reading, spending time with friends and going riding. Her favorite subject in high school was English, and she looks up to Harper Murray. Her favorite drinks are Orange Poppi and Diet Coke, her go-to road trip snack is peanut M&M's, and her favorite meals are meatloaf and birria tacos.

Jonica uses Instagram the most and has six dogs and one hamster in her household, including her own Chihuahua. As a teammate, she considers herself supportive and hardworking, always giving her best and encouraging those around her. She wants to be remembered for her kindness and hard work.

An interesting fact about Jonica is that she says she's accident-prone. Outside of volleyball, her second-best sport is softball.
