Union’s Shumaker named All-AAC Second-Team

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) has announced its 2025 Women's Volleyball All-AAC Teams and Awards.

Union Commonwealth University's Emily Shumaker was selected Second-Team All-AAC for the second consecutive year.

Shumaker has recorded 250 kills, 70 digs and 28 total blocks this season. It marks the fourth straight year she has tallied at least 224 kills in the regular season. Her 250 kills rank tied for 12th in the AAC this year.

Sarah Charkosky, Sloan Coursey, McKenna Pickett, Lain Prather, and Sydney Worde were each named to the AAC's All-Academic Team. Worde was UCU's representative on the Champions of Character Team.

No. 7 seed Union will face No. 10 seed Milligan in the first round of the 2025 AAC Women's Volleyball Tournament at noon Thursday, Nov. 13. The three-day tournament will be played at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
