Union Women Take on Large Fields at Centre Twilight
DANVILLE, Ky. — The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed at the Centre Twilight over the weekend hosted by Centre College.
Sprints and Distance
Competing in fields ranging from 30 to more than 40 athletes, Latalyah Sloan led Union in the 100 meters, finishing 16th in 13.50 seconds, while Kaylee Hall followed with a midpack finish in 13.79.
Sloan also paced the Bulldogs in the 200 meters, placing 16th overall with a time of 28.14.
Andrea Smith led Union in the 400 meters, finishing in 1:05.29.
Jumps and Hurdles
In the 100-meter hurdles, Dagmara Lubina posted a time of 18.31 to finish 13th.
Paula Sanchez Schulz led the Bulldogs in the field events, tying for seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.45 meters. She also placed 11th out of more than 20 competitors in the long jump with a distance of 4.78 meters.
Jazelynn Doneghy recorded a mark of 9.02 meters in the triple jump.
Throws
In a field of more than 30 competitors, Abigail Bradley paced Union in the throws, finishing 15th in the shot put with a mark of 10.38 meters. She also led the Bulldogs in the discus (26.99 meters) and hammer throw (25.39 meters).
Michaela Williams added a mark of 6.63 meters in the shot put and recorded 22.08 meters in the hammer throw.
