Union Women’s Track Places Fourth at Asbury Invitational
WILMORE, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team delivered a solid performance over the weekend at the Asbury Chick-fil-A Invitational, placing fourth out of eight teams with 63 points. The Bulldogs were highlighted by multiple top finishes against a competitive field.
Sprints
Kaidence Key continued to lead Union in the 100 meters with a second-place finish in a field of 14 competitors, clocking 12.56 seconds. Key has led Union in the event throughout the outdoor season, marking her third top-three finish in the 100 meters.
In the 200 meters, Key continued her strong showing with a third-place finish in 26.65.
Distance
Andrea Smith paced the Bulldogs in the 800 meters, finishing sixth with a time of 2:38.95.
Jumps & Hurdles
Jazelynn Doneghy and Lydia Workman represented Union in the 100-meter hurdles, with Doneghy placing fourth overall with a time of 19.04 and Workman following with a fifth-place finish in 20.16.
Paula Schulz highlighted the field events with a first-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters. She also added a fifth-place mark of 4.75 meters in the long jump in a field of 12 total competitors.
Relays
Union's 4x100 relay team of Key, Kaelyn Halmon, Doneghy and Kaylee Hall secured a third-place finish with a time of 53.12.
Throws
Abigail Bradley led Union in the throws, placing third in the shot put for the second consecutive meet with a mark of 10.25 meters. She also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 27.99 meters and added a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw at 31.08 meters.
