Bulldogs Deliver Solid Performances at Landon Bond Classic
BEREA, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed this weekend at the Landon Bond Classic at Berea College, facing strong competition from 10 schools.
Sprints
Kaidence Key led the way in the 100m, taking third place with a time of 12.98, improving on her performance from last week.
In the 200m, both Kaelyn Halmon and Latalyah Sloan cracked the top six, with Halmon finishing fifth (27.93) and Sloan close behind in sixth (28.13).
Distance
Andrea Smith competed in both distance events for Union. She placed 11th out of 20 runners in the 800m with a time of 2:43.56 and followed that with a 5:37.5 finish in the 1500m.
Jumps & Hurdles
Union dominated the hurdles events. Ava Arnett took first in the 100m hurdles (18.88), with Lydia Workman finishing second (19.93).
In the 400m hurdles, Dagmara Lubina claimed first place with a time of 1:14.29, while Arnett added another strong performance with a second-place finish (1:15.15).
Relays
The 4x100 relay team of Halmon, Key, Sloan, and DaMya White delivered a first-place finish with a time of 51.72.
Throws
Abigail Bradley earned a podium finish in the shot put, placing third with a throw of 9.78m. She also competed in discus, finishing mid-pack with a mark of 26.80m.
