Union women's swimming breaks five program records at NAIA Nationals
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team made history at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Nationals, shattering five program records.
Manca Petrič set a new program record in the 1650 free, posting a time of 17:42.31. She surpassed the previous mark of 17:46.16, set by Lara Kaufmann in 2017.
For the second time this season, the relay team of Lise Puissant, Emma Phillips, Petrič, and Dorottya Józsa rewrote the record books in the 400 medley relay. They recorded a time of 3:55.04, improving upon their previous program-best performance at the AAC Championships.
Emma Phillips had a record-breaking Nationals, setting three new program marks. She broke her own 200 breaststroke record, lowering it from 2:23.52 (set in 2023) to 2:22.76. She also topped her own record in the 200 IM, improving from 2:08.16 (2023) to 2:05.54.
In the 400 IM, she delivered another dominant swim, finishing in 4:29.35 to shatter her previous record of 4:37.81 from last season.
