Union women’s swimming and diving secures third place and breaks multiple conference records at AAC Championships

Kingsport, Tenn. - The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team competed at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships, where they secured a third-place overall finish with 621 points.

Day One:

Lise Puissant, Emma Phillips, Manca Petrič, and Dorottya Józsa won the 200 medley relay conference title with a time of 1:47.92. Petrič also took the 500 freestyle title, breaking a conference record in 5:03.28. 

Phillips won the 200 IM in 2:08.36, with Józsa finishing just behind in 2:08.37 for second place. Puissant placed third in the 50 free with a time of 24.94. 

Petrič, Puissant, Phillips, and Jósza won the 800 free relay, claiming the conference title in 7:48.73. Sarah Graves won the 1m dive, breaking the conference record with a score of 168.90, while Sami Sierocki took second.

Day Two:

Puissant, Phillips, Petrič, and Jósza took third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:38.14. Phillips won the 400 IM, claiming another conference title in 4:37.16. 

Petrič placed third in the 100 butterfly (59.04), while Jósza finished second in the 200 free (1:55.36). Giulia Liberti placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.96, while Puissant took third in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.02. 

Puissant, Phillips, Petrič, and Jósza won the conference title in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:56.97. Graves won another conference title in the 3m dive, with Sierocki finishing in second.


Day Three:

In the 1650 freestyle, Petrič claimed third place with a time of 18:12.97. Puissant earned another conference title in the 100 freestyle, finishing first with a time of 53.43, while Józsa followed closely behind in second at 53.65. 

Phillips secured third place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.51, and Liberti posted a provisional cut time in the same event, finishing in 2:32.72.

The quartet of Puissant, Petrič, Phillips, and Jósza claimed yet another conference title in the 400 freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 3:34.24.
