Union’s Manca Petrič named AAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Barbourville, Ky. - Union Commonwealth University's Manca Petrič been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week. This is her first honor this season.

At the Bulldog Invite, Petrič delivered an exceptional performance, earning six first-place finishes, achieving one "A" cut and two "B" cuts, and setting three new program records.

Individually, Petrič dominated the 500-yard freestyle with an "A" cut time of 5:01.68 and claimed first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a "B" cut time of 57.24. She also recorded a "B" cut time of 18:13.79 in the 1650-yard freestyle.

In team events, Petrič contributed to four first-place finishes. The Bulldogs won the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:42.07, the 200-yard medley relay in 1:49.54, the 400-yard medley relay in 3:59.78, and the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.69.

Petrič capped off the meet by breaking three program records: the 800-yard freestyle relay, the 500-yard freestyle, and the 100-yard butterfly. To learn more about her record-breaking achievements, click here.
