UCU women’s swimming and diving defeats Transylvania
Lexington, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team competed against Transylvania on Friday. The Bulldogs won 130-88.
UCU had 11 first-place finishes, five seconds, and one third.
The team of Lise Puissant, Giulia Liberti, Emma Phillips, and Dorottya Józsa won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:55.47. Ceci Gimenez Martinez took first in the 1000 freestyle at 11:56.11.
Manca Petrič won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.86, and Józsa took first in the 50 freestyle at 25.80.
Emma Phillips claimed first in the 200 IM with a provisional time of 2:16.77, and Puissant followed in second at 2:25.97.
In diving, Sarah Graves and Sami Sierocki placed top-two in both the 1m and 3m events. Graves scored 172.50 in the 1m and 183.25 in the 3m, while Sierocki finished with 125.00 and 125.50.
Petrič placed second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.25. Józsa won the 100 freestyle in 55.86.
Puissant took first in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:04.74, and Martinez won the 500 freestyle in 5:45.20.
Liberti won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.76. The team of Graves, Martinez, Sofi Del Rincon Aldana, and Petric took second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:05.11.
