Game Recap

First Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 5, BLUEFIELD 0

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead in the 9th minute when Nomie Jerinic buried a shot into the bottom-right corner of the net off a pass from Lupita Jimenez, marking her fifth goal of the season and setting the tone for Union's dominant first half.

Just ten minutes later, Lily Huckerby broke through the Bluefield back line and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to extend Union's lead to 2-0. Sophia Gonzalez was credited with the assist on Huckerby's fourth goal of the year.

Union continued to press, and in the 23rd minute Jimenez took matters into her own hands, weaving through defenders to finish into the far corner for Union's third goal of the match — her third of the season — with Jerinic earning the assist.

Barely a minute later, Olivia Bartlett made it 4-0 after her free kick slipped through the goalkeeper's hands and into the back of the net for her fourth goal of the year. Bartlett wasn't done, adding her second of the match minutes later with a high, looping shot that sailed just over the keeper's reach for her fifth of the season. Jerinic tallied her second assist on the play as the Bulldogs continued to pour on the pressure.

Second Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 7, BLUEFIELD 0

The second half remained quiet until the closing minutes when Jimenez struck again in the 85th minute, netting her second goal of the match off an assist from Gonzalez. Less than a minute later, Huckerby added her second of the day to cap off Union's dominant performance, extending the Bulldogs' lead to 7-0 with Jimenez earning the assist.

Union controlled the pace throughout, outshooting the Rams 31-3, including 18 shots on goal compared to Bluefield's three. Chiara Isanto recorded the shutout in net, finishing with three saves in the victory.
