Union Falls to Milligan in Road Contest

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - Union Commonwealth University's women's soccer team (2-13-0, 2-9-0 AAC) fell to Milligan (9-3-2, 8-2-1 AAC) Saturday at Anglin Field 3-0.

First Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0, MILLIGAN 2

Milligan struck first in the 15th minute when Natalie Roper converted a penalty kick to give the Buffaloes an early lead. Diane Maillis then doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute, scoring off an assist from Lauren Hawkley to make it 2-0.

For Union Commonwealth, Olivia Bartlett and Charlotte Jensen each tallied a shot in the first half, while goalkeeper Chiara Isanto recorded six saves to keep the Bulldogs in contention.

Second Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0, MILLIGAN 3

Milligan extended its lead in the 59th minute when Katelyn Penner found the back of the net off an assist from Kelsey Miller.

Despite several opportunities, the Bulldogs were held scoreless but finished with 10 shots, including three on goal. Jensen led Union Commonwealth with five shots, while Lily Huckerby, Bartlett, Alexis Schweitzer, Lupita Jimenez, and Mikayla McKenzie each added one.

Goalkeeper Isanto tallied seven saves in the contest.
