Union Women’s Soccer Drops Match to Reinhardt

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University's women's soccer team (2-11-0, 2-7-0 AAC) fell to Reinhardt (7-3-2, 7-1-2 AAC) Saturday night at Williamson Stadium, 2-1.

Coming into this game, the Lady Bulldogs were on a two-game winning streak, beating Spartanburg Methodist and Bryan in their two previous games.

First Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0,REINHARDT 1

In the 19th minute, the Eagles struck first as Haley Sturla found the back of the net off an assist from Sarah Taylor — Sturla's third goal of the season.

The Bulldogs generated a few chances in the opening half, recording three shots. Kimel Robertson, Lupita Jimenez, and Beth Craig each tallied one attempt.

Second Half: UNION COMMONWEALTH 1, REINHARDT 2

In the 58th minute, Olivia Bartlett put the Bulldogs on the board, converting a penalty kick for her third goal of the season. With the score, Bartlett joined teammates Lily Huckerby and Nomie Jerinic atop the team leaderboard with three goals apiece.

The Eagles responded in the 83rd minute when Haley Sturla netted the equalizer off an assist from Sophie Lopez Pinilla.

Union finished the match with 10 shots, five of which were on target. Jerinic, Kimel Robertson, and Lupita Jimenez each tallied two shots, while Bartlett, Ashleigh Scott-Brown, Beth Craig, and Charlotte Jensen added one apiece.

Goalkeeper Chiara Isanto collected four saves in the contest.
