Bulldogs Net Six in Dominant Win Over Bryan

BARBOURVILLE, Ky.  - Union Commonwealth University's women's soccer team (2-10-0, 2-6-0 AAC) defeated Bryan (2-10-1, 1-8 AAC) 6-1 on Wednesday at Williamson Stadium.

FIRST HALF: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0, BRYAN 0

Even though the first half remained scoreless, Union dominated offensively, outshooting the Lions 8-1, with four shots on goal. The Bulldog defense held firm, allowing just one attempt, which goalkeeper Chiara Isanto handled with a save.

SECOND HALF: UNION COMMONWEALTH 1, BRYAN 6

Olivia Bartlett opened the scoring for Union in the 51st minute, netting her second goal of the season. Just six minutes later, Ashleigh Scott-Brown doubled the Bulldogs' lead in the 57th minute off an assist from Beth Craig — her first goal of the season.

Bryan's Dylan Belk cut into the deficit in the 61st minute, making it 2-1, but Union quickly responded. Lupita Jimenez found the back of the net in the 63rd minute with an assist from Nomie Jerinic, marking her first goal of the year.

The Bulldogs extended their lead again in the 72nd minute when Charlotte Jensen scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Bartlett, to make it 4-1.

Union continued to pour on the offense as Lily Huckerby tallied her third goal of the season in the 78th minute, assisted by Jimenez. Jimenez then capped off the scoring with her second goal of the match, again assisted by Jerinic.

Union outshot Bryan 19-5 on the day, while goalkeeper Chiara Isanto recorded two saves in the win.
