Union Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 15 Truett McConnell

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union Commonwealth University's women's soccer team (0-8-0, 0-4-0 AAC) fell to No. 15 Truett McConnell (6-0-1, 4-0-0 AAC) 5-0 Saturday evening at Williamson Stadium.

GAME RECAP

FIRST HALF: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0, TMU 3

Truett opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Annabel Trauschke netted her first goal of the match off an assist from Marisol Esparza. Abby Sheriff doubled the lead in the 39th minute with an unassisted strike. Moments later, Trauschke tallied her second goal of the half, this time set up by Joanna Funes, giving Truett a 3-0 advantage.

Union Commonwealth managed four shots in the opening period.

SECOND HALF: UNION COMMONWEALTH 0, TMU 5

Early in the second half, Jessy Langston scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Eva Mordick. The Bears sealed the match in the 63rd minute when Peyton Brooks added their fifth and final goal, with Langston providing the assist.

Union Commonwealth finished with five shots, including three on frame. Iyana Campbell, Olivia Bartlett, Lupita Jimenez, Mikayla McKenzie and Charlotte Jensen each registered one attempt.

In goal, Arianna Brenes recorded a season-high 11 saves.
