BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union Commonwealth University's women's soccer team (0-5-0, 0-1-0 AAC) lost against Montreat (1-3-0, 1-1-0 AAC) 3-1 Wednesday evening in their conference home opener at Williamson Stadium.

FIRST HALF: MONTREAT 1, UNION COMMONWEALTH O
In the 18th minute, Montreat's Sam Aalbue converted a penalty kick for her second goal of the season, giving the Cavaliers the early lead. Union fired seven shots in the first half but was unable to find the back of the net.
SECOND HALF: MONTREAT 3, UNION COMMONWEALTH 1
Kaylene Manternach extended Montreat's lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 53rd minute. Union answered in the 62nd when Lily Huckerby, off an assist from Alexis Schweitzer, scored her first career goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. Montreat responded in the 78th with a header from Sam Aalbue, her second goal of the match and third of the season, sealing the 3-1 victory.
Union finished with 15 shots to Montreat's 17. Goalkeeper Chiara Isanto collected six saves for the Bulldogs.
