UCU Drops Road Match at Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's soccer team (0-3-0) fell 2-0 to Georgetown (2-1-0) on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.

The first half remained scoreless as the Bulldogs generated a few opportunities. Iyana Campbell led the attack with two shots, while Dionte Delpeche added one attempt. Goalkeeper Arianna Brenes recorded two saves to keep the match level heading into halftime.

Georgetown broke through in the 77th minute when Bekah Clark crossed to Kali Settle, who finished from three yards out for the first goal of the match.

The Tigers struck again in the 88th minute when Kendyl Rumple intercepted a clearance and fired a long-range shot from 32 yards out to extend the lead.

Union registered three shots in the second half, coming from Campbell, Lily Huckerby and Charlotte Jensen. Brenes finished with two saves in the contest.

Up next for Union is an away match at Shawnee State on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 5:00 p.m.
