Major: Exercise Science & Business Management

Shanyah Peters is double majoring in Exercise Science and Business Management at Union Commonwealth University. Her favorite part about Union is the warm and welcoming environment, where everyone supports and uplifts one another in meaningful ways.

Shanyah’s passion lies in physiotherapy, inspired by her own experiences as an athlete and witnessing others face injuries. Her dream job is to become a Physical Therapist, helping athletes regain strength, mobility, and confidenceafter setbacks. Her favorite subject in high school was Physical Education, and while she doesn’t have a sports icon yet, she hopes to one day find a role model she truly connects with.

Her hobbies include dancing and pageantry—having competed in five pageants, winning three crowns and placing in two. Her favorite road trip snack is cookies, her go-to meal is stewed chicken with mashed potatoes, or breadfruit and codfish, and she enjoys using WhatsApp and Instagram to stay connected.

As a teammate, Shanyah describes herself as jovial, respectful, honest, and hardworking. She wants to be remembered for the love, care, talent, honesty, and compassion she brought into every space she entered.

At Union, Mrs. Spurlock and Ms. Jayme have had a lasting positive impact on her journey. In addition to her main sport, volleyball and track and field are her second-best sports.
