William Sykes appreciates Union Commonwealth University’s small campus, which makes it easy to navigate between classes while still feeling connected to the community. On the track and field team, he brings a quiet but highly competitive presence, always focused on improving his performance and supporting his teammates.
Outside of his sport, William enjoys bowling and has even rolled a perfect 300 game. His dream is to be part of an NFL athletic training team, combining his love of sports with his passion for helping athletes perform at their best. Math was his favorite subject in high school, and he looks up to Noah Lyles as his favorite athlete.
William’s favorite drink is lemonade, his go to road trip snack is peanut M&M’s, and he enjoys chicken and rice. He hopes to be remembered as the first person from Union to compete in nationals for javelin. Chris Jelks and Payton Ellison have made a positive impact on his journey, and outside of track and field, football is his next best sport.
