TJ Smith is drawn to Union Commonwealth University for its welcoming campus layout and the way everything centers around the football field. He appreciates the sense of community it creates and how it keeps campus life connected.

Outside of track and field, TJ enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He hopes to become a doctor so he can help people, a goal shaped by his caring nature and love for science. In high school, math was his favorite subject, and he also stood out as a multi-sport athlete, competing in five different sports.

TJ looks up to Grant Holloway as his favorite icon in the sport. On road trips, he reaches for trail mix and chocolate milk, and his go-to meal is steak with vegetables. He also enjoys following along on Instagram and relaxing at home with his two cats.

Known as a supportive and steady presence on his team, TJ wants to be remembered for his success and the positive example he sets. Along with track and field, he considers swimming his second-best sport.
