Major: Math Education and Music

Jacob Byrd values the small community at Union Commonwealth University, where it is easy to make friends and form genuine connections. Known as a supportive teammate, he is always willing to help those around him.

Outside of track and field, Jacob enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two dogs, Apollo and Gizmo. His favorite meal is tinga, and he likes to snack on Haribo Starmix gummies with Diet Coke as his drink of choice during road trips. Jacob’s favorite subject in high school was math, and he looks up to Ryan Crouser as his sport icon. He also enjoys football and basketball as additional sports and dreams of becoming a teacher while conducting choir on the weekends.
