Union men’s indoor track and field recap of AAC Championships
Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Union Commonwealth University men's indoor track and field team competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing eighth overall.
Day One:
Valor Pennington secured second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.82m, while Jay Ateeb also earned runner-up honors in the triple jump with a leap of 13.67m.
Jackson Crume competed in the 5000m, finishing with a time of 16:47.94. In the distance medley relay, the team of Zabrey Bortz, Isaiah Spears, Preston Frost, and Conner Partin clocked a time of 11:22.84.
In the weight throw, Cedric Irvin posted a mark of 12.14m.
Day Two:
Noah Hale competed in the 3000m race walk, clocking a time of 19:58.98.
The quartet of Bortz, Frost, Torrean Thorton, and Crume secured a fourth-place finish in the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:33.65. In the 3000m run, Partin crossed the finish line in 9:55.85, while Bortz posted a time of 2:08.87 in the 800m.
Teddy Still placed eighth in the 200m dash, recording a time of 23.14. Frost completed the 600m in 1:31.62, and the relay team of Still, Kamese Higgins, Spears, and Frost claimed fifth place in the 4x400m with a time of 3:40.54.
In the field events, Andon Mashburn registered a shot put mark of 12.42m.
