Union men’s indoor track and field recap from the Centre Indoor Showcase

Danville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's indoor track and field team placed 12th at the Centre Indoor Showcase. 

Jackson Crume finished 7th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:42.74. In the 400-meter dash, Preston Frost took 7th with a time of 54.25, and Isaiah Spears finished 8th in 55.38.

Alex Garcia earned 9th place in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:49.14, while teammates Zabrey Bortz and Torrean Thornton also competed in the event.

In the 200-meter dash, Teddy Stills secured 10th place with a time of 23.41. Garomme Hanna, Kamese Higgins, Tyler Sturgil, and Ethan Combs also participated in the race.

In the 3000-meter run, Conner Partin finished in 11th place with a time of 10:02.42, while Noah Hale also competed in the event. The team of Garcia, Frost, Stills, and Spears earned a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking in at 3:37.11.

Malichai Miller competed in the long jump, finishing 11th with a mark of 6.05 meters. Jay Ateeb and Kameron Cox also participated in the event.

In the triple jump, Ateeb earned a sixth-place finish with a mark of 13.22m. In the high jump, Valor Pennington placed fifth with a jump of 1.80m, while Santana Smith secured ninth with a mark of 1.75m.

In pole vault, Tim Freeman recorded an 11th-place finish with a clearance of 3.00m, followed closely by Pennington in 12th with a mark of 2.25m. The shot put saw Cedric Irwin, Keenan Uhles, and Jacob Bryd all competing, with Bryd and Uhles also participating in the weight throw.
