Union men's indoor track and field secures fifth place at Lions Invitational
Cincinnati, Oh. - The Union Commonwealth University men's indoor track and field team competed at the Lions Invitational on Saturday. They finished fifth overall with 51.5 points.
In the 60-meter dash, Teddy Stills placed fourth with a time of 7.10 seconds. In the 400 meters, Preston Frost finished sixth in 55.03 seconds, while Isaiah Spears came in 10th at 56.62 seconds.
In the 800 meters, Alex Garcia and Zabrey Bortz placed eighth and ninth with times of 2:08.75 and 2:09.55, respectively. Conner Partin took fifth in the 3000 meters, running a 9:15.45.
In the 5000 meters, Jackson Crume finished fifth in 17:01.52, while Noah Hale placed ninth at 19:57.85.
Kameron Cox, Stills, Kamese Higgins, and Spears placed fourth in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:36.77. Bortz, Partin, Garcia, and Frost took second in the distance relay, finishing in 11:32.57.
In the high jump, Valor Pennington placed sixth with a mark of 1.83m, while Tyler Sturgil finished ninth with a mark of 1.78m. Tim Freeman placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 2.85m.
Cox finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.86m. Jay Ateeb took third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.14m.
