Union men’s indoor track and field competes at Centre First Chance

Danville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's track and field team competed at the Centre First Chance meet on Saturday.

In the 60-meter dash, Teddy Stills finished fourth with a time of 7.01. In the 200 meters, Garomme Hanna secured 13th place with a time of 24.54, while Ethan Combs and Tyler Sturgil followed with times of 25.25 and 25.43, respectively. 

Preston Frost led the team in the 400 meters. He placed 12th with a time of 54.53, while Isaiah Spears crossed the line in 57.03. In the 800 meters, Alex Garcia earned a podium finish, taking third place with a time of 2:06.50. Zabrey Bortz also competed in the event, recording a time of 2:15.74. 

Bortz claimed fourth place in the mile with a time of 4:51.53. Connor Partin followed closely, finishing sixth in 5:01.64. Torrean Thornton and Noah Hale finished in eighth and ninth place, posting times of 5:21.01 and 5:37.24, respectively.  In the 3000 meters, Gianna Loska clocked in at 10:02.86.

The team of Frost, Spears, Stills, and Garcia secured fifth place in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:47.29. The quartet of Bortz, Valor Pennington, Loska, and Sturgill followed with a time of 3:59.94 in the same event. Isa Bramble, Hanna, Kameron Cox, and Ethan Combs clocked 4:06.40, while Thornton, Partin, Tim Freeman, and Hale finished in 4:21.01. 

In the high jump, Payton Ellison earned second place with a mark of 1.90m, while Pennington finished fifth with a jump of 1.80m. Sturgill also competed, clearing 1.75m. 

In the pole vault, Freeman reached a height of 2.85m. Cox competed in the long jump. He claimed fourth place with a mark of 6.05m.

Jay Ateeb secured a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.82m. In the shot put, Andon Mashburn earned seventh place with a throw of 12.85m. Keenan Uhles, Jacob Bryd, Ateeb, and Travis Hensley also competed in the shot put, recording marks of 10.67m, 10.63m, 10.59m, and 8.99m, respectively. 

In the weight throw, Mashburn, Bryd, Uhles, and Hensley recorded marks of 9.33m, 8.94m, 8.71m, and 7.23m.
