Belmont, N.C. – The Union Commonwealth University men's tennis team played against NCAA Division II opponent Belmont Abbey on Friday. The Bulldogs won 5-2.

 

Doubles:

Samuel McGregor and Ewan Grieve defeated Henning Ebersohn and Sebastian Stipanov (Union) 6-4.

Luke Geduldt and Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Matthew Orozco 6-2.

Peyton Willians and Jack McGregor defeated Enzo Sebastien and Daniel Caballeros (Union) 7-6.

 

Singles:

Luke Geduldt (Union) defeated Ewan Grieve 6-1, 6-2.

Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Ryan Nguyen 6-4, 7-5.

Matthew Orozco defeated Yassine Azehaf (Union) 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Enzo Sebastien (Union) defeated Sullivan Monteith 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

Henning Ebersohn (Union) defeated Brody Sawyer 6-1, 6-3.

Sebastian Stipanov (Union) defeated Peyton Williams 1-6, 7-6, 10-4.

 

The Bulldogs are now 5-4 this season, while Belmont Abbey was 9-14 following the match. Up next for UCU is a road conference match against Montreat on Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 p.m.
