Union men’s swim breaks six program records at AAC Championships
Kingsport, Tenn. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swim team delivered a record-breaking performance at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships, shattering six program records.
The relay team of Zsombi Sipaki, Dmitrii Bulakh, Cezary Leiman, and Enzo Constable set a new program best in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:31.20. This feat surpassed their own previous record of 1:31.25, which they had established earlier in the season at the Bulldog Invite.
Jaedon Lynch, Toby Edwards, Leiman, and Constable shattered the program record in the 200 free relay, clocking in at 1:23.30. The previous record of 1:24.77 was set by Rocha, Glavinos, Snider, and Strachan at the 2013 NAIA Championships.
Meanwhile, Abel Eszenyi broke his own program record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:00.19. He had previously set the mark earlier this season at the Bulldog Invite, finishing in 4:01.57.
Sipaki continues to rewrite the record books for the Bulldogs, once again surpassing his own mark in the 100 backstroke. He posted a time of 50.97, improving upon his previous program record of 51.10, which he set at the Bulldog Invite.
Constable remains unstoppable in the 100 freestyle, shattering his own program record for the fourth time this season. He clocked a time of 44.32, besting his previous mark of 44.46 from the Bulldog Invite.
The Bulldogs also made history in the 400 medley relay, as Leiman, Edwards, Lynch, and Constable combined for a program-best 3:03.14. The previous record, set at the Bulldog Invite by Sipaki, Bulakh, Leiman, and Constable, stood at 3:22.82.
