Major: Sports Management

Manuel Torres is majoring in sports management after choosing Union because of its welcoming community and the diversity found across campus. He values being part of an environment where students from different backgrounds come together while pursuing their academic and athletic goals. Looking ahead, Torres hopes to work as the head of a professional soccer organization or in another leadership role within the sport, allowing him to stay connected to the game while helping shape its future.

When he's not on the soccer field, Torres enjoys playing EA Sports FC Pro Clubs with his friends. American history was his favorite subject in high school, and his favorite soccer player is Manuel Neuer, whose leadership and consistency have made him one of the game's all-time great goalkeepers. Steak with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad is his favorite meal, while strawberry lemonade is his drink of choice. On road trips, he's most likely reaching for protein bars, and Instagram is his favorite social media platform.

Torres describes himself as the funny and supportive teammate who enjoys making others laugh while always being there for his teammates when they need him. He hopes to be remembered for being caring and supportive both on and off the field. One interesting fact about him is that he can name more than 50 countries from memory. Torres also credits Coach Gabriel for making a positive impact on his life, describing him as an incredible person. If he weren't playing soccer, he says tennis would be his second-best sport.
