Minor: Sports, Kinesiology, and Physical Education/Fitness

Freddie Poiner is pursuing a major in exercise science and kinesiology with a minor in sports, kinesiology, and physical education/fitness. One of his favorite things about Union is its historic architecture, which gives the campus a unique character and atmosphere. Looking ahead, Poiner hopes to become a teacher, allowing him to inspire the next generation and make a positive impact on young people's lives.

Outside of soccer, Poiner enjoys watching YouTube in his free time. Physical education was his favorite subject in high school, and his favorite soccer player is Neymar, whose creativity and flair continue to inspire him. Pasta bake is his favorite meal, while apple juice is his drink of choice. On road trips, he's most likely reaching for dried mango, and Instagram is his preferred social media platform.

Poiner describes himself as a hardworking teammate who is committed to giving his best every day. He hopes to be remembered for being authentic and staying true to himself both on and off the field. He has a dog and a tortoise, and one interesting fact about him is that he is bilingual, speaking both Welsh and English. If he weren't playing soccer, Poiner says badminton or tennis would be his second-best sport.
