Major: Psychology

Akshay Gajadin is majoring in psychology as he begins his first year at Union. While he is still getting to know campus, he is excited to discover everything the university has to offer as both a student and an athlete. Gajadin's dream is to become a professional soccer player, a goal he has pursued since childhood after growing up watching stars like Ronaldinho. He is determined to continue developing his game while making the most of his collegiate experience.

Outside of soccer, Gajadin enjoys playing cards and spending time with friends. Geography and biology were his favorite subjects in high school, and his favorite soccer player is Neymar Jr., whose creativity and flair have inspired him throughout his career. His favorite meal is roti with chicken, while Super Pineapple Fernandes, a popular Surinamese soft drink, is his beverage of choice. On road trips, he's most likely reaching for a white chocolate Lion bar, and TikTok is his favorite social media platform.

Gajadin describes himself as the fun, chaotic teammate who brings energy and laughter to the group. He hopes to be remembered for winning and helping his teams achieve success throughout his career. He has two pet birds, and one interesting fact about him is that he can speak five languages and read seven. If he weren't playing soccer, Gajadin says athletics (track and field) or badminton would be his second-best sport.
