Major: Media Studies

George Farrand is majoring in media studies after choosing Union because of its men's soccer program and the opportunity to continue competing at a high level. He dreams of becoming a professional soccer player because of his lifelong love for the game and is dedicated to continuing his development both on and off the field while pursuing his degree.

Outside of soccer, Farrand enjoys socializing with friends and making the most of his free time. Media studies was his favorite subject in high school, and his favorite soccer player is Harry Kane, whose leadership, professionalism, and goal-scoring ability have made him one of England's most accomplished players. Marinated chicken with rice is his favorite meal, while iced water is his drink of choice. On road trips, he's most likely reaching for Doritos, and Instagram is his favorite social media platform.

Farrand describes himself as a helpful teammate who is always willing to support those around him. He hopes to be remembered for scoring a world-class goal during his career at Union. He has pets and shares one interesting fact about himself: until a few years ago, water was the only thing he drank. If he weren't playing soccer, Farrand says cross country would be his second-best sport.
