Major: Exercise Science

Hans-Georg Bornholdt is an Exercise Science major with a strong passion for sports and an even stronger commitment to his team. His favorite thing about Union is the tight-knit student community and the high-quality soccer program that fuels his competitive drive.

Outside the classroom, Hans enjoys meeting friends, cooking, and listening to music. His dream job is anything within the sports world, as it’s what he enjoys most during his free time. In high school, his favorite subjects were Sport and Religion, and his soccer inspiration is none other than Manuel Neuer.

Hans prefers sparkling water to stay refreshed and snacks on Haribo gummy bears during road trips. His go-to meal is lasagna, and he’s most active on Instagram. At home, he cares for a variety of pets including a guinea pig, chicken, and Canarian birds.

On the field, Hans sees himself as a supportive but hard-working teammate—someone who always gives his all to help the team succeed. He wants to be remembered as a great goalkeeper who never backed down from putting in extra work.

Something interesting about Hans: he loves spending time in nature and going for walks, often using that time to reset or think about ways to improve his game. His second-best sport is handball, followed closely by basketball.
