Barbourville, Ky. - The No.1 seeded Union Commonwealth University men's soccer team faced off against No. 4 seed Truett McConnell in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs fell to the Bears with a final score of 3-1.
Zak Hardman scored the Bulldogs' only goal. Hardman extends his season total to six. Charlie Markland added Union's lone assist, which was also his sixth of the season.
UCU took 11 shots, with five on target, while Truett McConnell had five shots, three on goal. Goalkeeper Daniel Harrison made three saves.
The Bulldogs are now 13-2-2, while Truett McConnell stands at 11-4-3. The AAC finals will feature No. 3 Bryan and No. 4 Truett McConnell on Saturday, Nov. 9. Union now awaits the release of the NAIA Tournament bracket.
