No. 23 Union falls short against Baker

Barbourville, Ky. - No. 23 Union Commonwealth University hosted Baker on Thursday night at Williamson Stadium.

The first goal of the game was scored by Baker's Hyunwoo Kim off an assist by Ian Waindim in the fourth minute. No goals were scored throughout the remainder of the half.

Akira Itadani scored in the second half off an assist by Reilly Marlow-Jones to extend Baker's lead to 2-0. That goal was scored in the 76th minute. Union fell short 2-0.

Union tallied five shots in the match, while Baker recorded 10. The Bulldogs tallied two shots on goal, while Baker totaled six.

The Bulldogs are now 0-1 on the season, while Baker is 1-0. Up next for UCU is a home match against West Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 5:00 p.m.
