Third Year with the Bulldogs
As a Junior (2013-14):
- NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selection, the eighth Union player to earn the honor.
- All-AAC First Team selection and AAC All-Tournament Team pick.
- Played in all 33 games on the year, making 32 starts at forward.
- Finished the season leading the Bulldogs in both scoring (15.9 points per game) and rebounding (seven 'boards per game).
- Ranked second in all of NAIA Division II in field goal shooting percentage at the end of the season, shooting at a 68 percent clip for the year.
- Scored in double-figures in 26 of the 33 games he played in.
- Ended the year on a tear, scoring in double-digits in 14 of the final 15 games of Union's season.
- Notched six double-doubles throughout the season, including a stretch of three straight from Jan 30 through Feb. 3.
- Recorded the best game of his two-year career on Jan. 30 against Milligan (Tenn.), scoring a career-high 33 points, while snatching a career-best 16 rebounds, leading Union to a 102-94 win.
- Scored 20 points or more in nine games on the year
- Earned AAC Player of the Week honors twice throughout the season, nabbing the award on Nov. 18 and Feb. 3.
As a Sophomore (2012-13):
- Was inserted into the Bulldogs’ lineup in the second half of the season and immediately contributed.
- Played in 10 games, starting eight at center.
- Averaged 18.1 points a game and 9.9 rebounds a game. Also blocked 11 shots.
- Shot 64 percent from the field on the year (76-of-119).
- Scored in double-digits in nine of the 10 games he played in, going over the 20-point barrier six times.
- Recorded seven double-doubles.
- Had highs in points and rebounds in his regular season debut, scoring 25 points and snatching 13 rebounds at Reinhardt on Jan. 3.
- Scored 24 points twice - Jan. 5 vs. Montreat (N.C.) and Feb. 9 vs. Cincinnati-Clermont - leading Union to victories in both games.
- Was the AAC’s Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 18 after leading Union to conference wins over Point (Ga.) and Bryan (Tenn.).
- In Point game (Feb. 13), Johnson made game-tying layup at the end of regulation, and broke a tie in double overtime with a jumper, pacing Union to an 82-75 double OT win.
