Bio
A native of Campbellsville, Kentucky, David Cunningham brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the football field. A 1983 graduate of Taylor County High School, Cunningham was a two-year letterman and team leader, earning Cardinal Club honors, Most Improved, and Academic awards. He led the team in both receptions and interceptions as a senior.
Cunningham continued his playing career at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, where he was a four-year letterman, appearing in 44 games. He served as team co-captain his senior year and was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-Mid-South Conference linebacker in 1987. He earned his B.A. in History from Kentucky Wesleyan in 1987 and went on to complete his M.A. in Education from Western Kentucky University in 1993.
A third-generation coach and educator, Cunningham’s passion for coaching runs deep in his family. His father, Lou, was the head basketball coach at Campbellsville University for 25 years.
