Major: Exercise Science

Ty Vinson is an Exercise Science major who values the strong sense of community at Union, describing it as a place where “everyone feels like family.”

Outside of football, Ty enjoys playing video games and spending time with family and friends. His dream is to become a physical therapist, a career that aligns with his passion for helping people every day. In high school, his favorite subjects were writing and history, as he enjoyed expressing ideas through writing and learning about the world’s past.

His football icon is Jalen Ramsey, known for his elite technique and confident style—traits Ty admires and works to incorporate into his own game. His go-to drink is lemonade, with fruit or Sour Patch Kids as his road trip snacks of choice. A big fan of pasta, his favorite meal is chicken parmesan or any kind of pasta. On social media, he prefers Instagram, and he has three dogs at home.

As a teammate, Ty prides himself on being someone who pushes those around him, celebrates team success, and supports others at every step. He hopes to be remembered as a hardworking individual both on and off the field.

An interesting fact about Ty is his love for cooking, a skill he developed from his parents and by watching the Food Network growing up. One of the most impactful figures during his time at Union has been Coach Kibb, who has challenged Ty to exceed his own expectations and become better every day.

Ty’s second-best sport is track—a sport he began in 5th grade and pursued through high school. He earned a region championship and competed at the state level in relay events, creating lasting memories and achievements.
