Cox earns All-AAC First Team Defensive honors
WALESKA, Ga. - Union College had four players land on the All-Appalachian Athletic Conference Football team, with defensive back Terran Cox earning First Team honors, the conference announced Wednesday.
It was the second consecutive First Team honor for Cox, who earned the same designation in the Mid-South a season ago. In 2022, he led the Bulldogs with three interceptions and was second on the team with 55 tackles. His 9.2 tackles per game were the third best total in the AAC.
He wasn't the only Bulldog to earn all-conference recognition, as defensive lineman DayVon Moore, linebacker Adam Chaney and kick returner D'Mauri Owens were selected to the AAC Second Team.
Moore, who made the MSC Second Team in 2021, was an effective presence up from, recording six tackles for loss and two sacks, while Chaney, who was also Union's representative on the Champions of Character Team, was third on the team with 44 tackles.
On special teams, Owens was second in the AAC with 327 kick return yards. His 20.4 average was the league's fourth highest total.
The Bulldogs had five players selected to the All-Academic Team as well, with Noah Canady, Dalton Crook, Kaygen Heffin, Dylan Huges and Timothy Owsley being acknowledged for their work in the classroom.
