Major: Nursing

Ajiyah Hariston is a passionate nursing major who cherishes the welcoming atmosphere at Union Commonwealth University. “The faculty and staff truly want each student to succeed—and it shows.”

When she's not cheering, Ajiyah loves spending time with her siblings and going to concerts. Her dream job is to become a Flight Nurse, combining her love for adrenaline and helping others in high-stakes trauma care.

Her favorite subject in high school was math, and her cheer icon is Eliza LaBelle from UCF’s co-ed team. She reaches for Apple Juice or Sunny D to stay refreshed, and her favorite road trip snack is Smartfood white cheddar popcorn. Her go-to meal? Her mom’s Mexican chicken.

Ajiyah is active on TikTok, and she has two pets: a Doberman named Chyna and an Elf Sphynx cat named Lylah. As a teammate, she considers herself welcoming, team-first, and a quiet leader who leads by action.

She wants to be remembered for her humor, constant smile, and always being prepared—with anything you could ever need in her cheer bag. Something interesting about her? She’s the oldest of 7 siblings!

Ajiyah is grateful for the positive impact of Deloria Faulkner, Lindsey Frazier, and her coach Lisa Napier, who is also a Union alum. Outside of cheer, her second-best sport is track and field.
