Sophi Deaton values the friendships she has built on campus and the welcoming community that has helped her feel at home.

A supportive teammate, Sophi is known for her kindness and positive attitude toward others. Outside of cheer, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her two pets.

Her dream is to become a school counselor so she can support students and help meet their mental health needs. Her favorite subject in school was social studies, and she looks up to Mary Sergi as her favorite icon within the sport.

Sophi’s favorite drink is Dr. Pepper, and on road trips, she enjoys snacking on Pringles. Her favorite meal is steak from Malone’s, and when she’s not cheering, she also enjoys playing tennis as her second sport. She is proud to continue a family legacy at Union, following in the footsteps of her dad, who also graduated from the university.
