Union Baseball Rallies Late but Falls to Midway
MIDWAY, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University baseball team (4-24, 1-16 AAC) mounted a late comeback effort but fell short in a 10-8 loss to Midway (20-11) in a non-conference midweek matchup.

Midway jumped out to an early advantage, scoring eight runs over the first two innings to take control.

Union Commonwealth began to chip away in the fourth inning when Aiden Wilson delivered an RBI double to score Nathan McCabe. The Bulldogs continued their rally in the fifth, plating five runs. Marquese Glynn added an RBI single to score Roberto Gallardo, while McCabe followed with an RBI single of his own to bring home Cristian Bajjalieha. Max Charlton and Isaiah Pintor each contributed RBI singles, and Wilson later scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 8-6.

Midway responded with a two-run home run to extend its lead to 10-6.

The Bulldogs made one final push in the seventh inning. Caleb Newkirk doubled to score Charlton, and Trey Hollon added an RBI to plate Pintor. Despite the late surge, Union Commonwealth was unable to complete the comeback.
