UCU Baseball Falls in Series Opener at TMU
CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Union Commonwealth University baseball team (4-18, 1-14 AAC) dropped the opening game of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series to Truett McConnell University (8-18, 1-12 AAC), 11-1, on Friday.

The contest remained scoreless through three innings before the Bears broke through in the bottom of the fourth. A one-RBI single followed by a two-RBI base hit gave Truett McConnell a 3-0 advantage.

Union Commonwealth responded in the top of the sixth when Noah Young delivered an RBI single to score Nathan McCabe, trimming the deficit to 3-1.

TMU pulled away late, plating eight runs across the seventh and eighth innings to secure the 11-1 victory.
